They're Back For Seconds!

It's been two years since the fiendish Critters first terrorized the town of Grovers Bend and sent the Brown family packing. But the "boy who called Critter," Brad Brown (Scott Grimes), is back...and just in time. Krite eggs have been hatching lethal litters and the blood-thirsty hairballs are eager to partake in their favorite pastime - eating. In no time, Critter eggs are popping open everywhere - a field full of livestock becomes a gigantic feeding ground, and local residents are disappearing by the mouthful. Fortunately, three bounty hunters from space, Ug, Lee and Charlie, are flying back to eradicate the problem. But can they wipe out the Critters before Grovers Bend is erased from the map. With outstanding special effects, Critters 2 - The Main Course is bigger and better - and sure to satisfy everyone's appetite for action, thrills and horror!

Harv. Barry takes over the role of the grumpy, cussing retired sheriff originally played by M. Emmet Walsh in the first episode of the three part saga. Now that the Critters are back, Harv is asked by Brad (Scott Grimes) to help him exterminate the voracious furry aliens. Harv is still angry for being voted out by the people of Grovers Bend and turns the request down. Later, knowing the town needs his leadership and impressive skills with guns, Harv gives in and makes a timely comeback.

Review by William D. Kerns, Lubbock Avalanche Journal, Tuesday, May 17, 1988: "Local moviegoers might want to check out "Critters 2" because Barry Corbin, who has been honored with a plaque on Lubbock's Walk Of Fame tries to lighten the mood with an incredible hammy performance as the former sheriff. Corbin first appears in a pair of briefs, later nails a bunch of Krites like an old-fashioned gunfighter and finally expresses dismay by drawling: "Them man-eatin' dust mops got us roped up tighter than a bull."

SAL : Hi, Harv.
HARV : What the hell are you doing here?
SAL : Important business. Brad Brown is back in town.
HARV : Oh. Well, on the important chart I'd put that Brad right between a pineapple quiche and a pimple on my ass!
SAL : I thought you'd want to talk with him, you know...about the critters.
HARV : Why in the hell would I want to do a thing like that? If I never talk to anybody about them things that shall remain nameless I'll die a happy man. And besides that, I ain't been Sheriff of this burg for two glorious years! Why don't you run along home, Sal? Because they're about to start the bonus round.

HARV : What the hell are you doing here boy?
MEGAN : We think it might have been those...creatures.
HARV : What creatures would that be?
BRAD : It's true, Harv.
HARV : Did you see 'em?
BRAD : Not exactly but I have...
HARV : Then don't be bringing me grief! You go tell the sheriff.
MEGAN : The sheriff is dead!
BRAD : They got him up at the church. His stomach was eaten out! Some of the folks are trying to say it was a kind of  a farm machine accident but it wasn't! You have to come with us, Harv. What are you doing?
HARV : What does it look like I'm doing "Einstein"? I'm doing what any intelligent Grover's Bender would do: I'M HAULING ASS!
BRAD : You can't leave now! This town needs you!
HARV : Yeah? This town voted me out in a landslide. THIS TOWN CAN KISS MY ASS!
BRAD : I can't believe you're just gonna run away.
MEGAN : We need you Harv, we need a sheriff.
HARV : Go check the yellow pages.

HARV : (Gunshots) I'm back.
MEGAN : Cindy? Cindy!
HARV : Looks like we got us a job to do.

OLD MAN : I say the boy's bad news and shoots.
HARV : (Gunshot) WHAT IS THIS BULLSHIT? Them man-eatin' dust mops got us roped up tighter'n a blue ribbon bull and all you folks can do is stand here and play "kick the can" with some PUNK KID! If we set around here in our duffs, BITCHIN' -- we're gonna end up tomorrow as leftovers. Now, I don't too much relish that idea. I think it's time to fight back.

WESLEY : I'll go.
MEGAN : Really?
HARV : Alright, you all just volunteered. Come on, you bunch of pussies! You got nothing to lose but your lives.

HARV : Company's comin'.

HARV : Son of a bitch!

HARV : Come on, son. Kiss your little gal and let's haul ass!

HARV : Holy shit!

BUS DRIVER: Say, listen, uh...what just happened here?
HARV : If I was you, partner, I'd roll this rig right out of town and not say nothin' about none of this to nobody.

HARV : Hey, Charlie -- catch!
